Brussels waffles. Arrive one day on your lazy Sunday morning in Belgium.

Did you know that the Belgian Maurice Vermersh invented these waffles in 1962, so they are called Brussels waffles, named after the capital from which he comes. Crispy waffles on the outside, airy on the inside… They are usually served with a small garnish, fresh whipped cream and freshly cut strawberries.

    Solis 1

Lightly lubricate the waffle pan. Heat a waffle pan.

    Solis 2

In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and cinnamon.

    Solis 3

Beat the egg whites until foamy and set aside.

    Solis 4

In a separate bowl, mix the egg yolks, vegetable oil, milk and vanilla extract.

    Solis 5

Add the egg yolks to the dry ingredients (flour, etc.) and mix thoroughly.

    Solis 6

Then add the egg whites and pour it into the dough.

    Solis 7

Bake in a waffle pan until golden brown.

Serve with your favorite toppings. I like fresh berry puree. Others eat with honey, chocolate cream or even whipped cream. Enjoy your meal!
